Chris - the tiny tach seems to be the tach of choice due to its low price and ease of installation. But, if you look in your friendly Suzuki genuine assessory parts catalog you'll see a tach for the Volusia that fits the Savage perfectly but would take more time to wire. The official line that Suzuki will give is that it is model specific. That's legal speak for we haven't fully tested it yet on the Savage model and it may take a little longer to hook up do to wire length specific for the Volusia. The Savage emits a dead spark on the second TDC so a tach for a twin is what will work. Even on the tiny tach get the one for the twin cylinder engine. There are tachs that affix to the bar between the mounts that really look great - it just takes time to look through all the books/sites to find the right 'look' that you are after.
